Martha has been  an inspiration in many ways. Her disposition, friendliness and open mindedness have made her an endearing friend. To know her is to want to know her better. 

I had I the pleasure of meeting Martha and Jay July 2011.  I was Martha's new cleaning lady.  Jay had nicknamed me "buzz saw".  He would ask 'Martha  if he could have me for an hour to do yard work! Martha would always okay, just an hour!

Martha and I would spend a lot of time in the kitchen talking!  I once mention that Jay must of been a tiger in the sack!! I think it caught Martha off guard for a second, but when we looked at each other, we laughed so hard, we had tears I our eyes!

I miss seeing and talking with you Martha!!!

Hi Martha

Well after the many times that you and I talked when I was still working at the University about the ALL music program and the great success you were having, I finally found time in my retirement to join the concert band. What great fun! I am really enjoying playing trumpet with the group.

We just finished playing several concerts and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves both audience and band members alike. You really helped create something special at the Academy. I still call it the Academy since I can't get used to the new name.

I hope you are enjoying the nice Florida weather. We all miss you here. I had hoped to sit next to you in the trumpet section but you moved before I had a chance. I think of you every time I go to rehearsal. Thanks for all the encouragement you provided to get this group going.

Pat and I loved visiting you at your beautiful new home. I’m so happy to know that you succeeded in starting a drum circle. Pat and I hope to visit you so that we can participate. We have our own drums and I would like to play some flute music during the drumming.

You are an inspiration to us. You manage to do things for other people wherever you are.
